Raise or remove clothing. To ensure an accurate measurement, you will need the measuring tape to be resting against your stomach or hips, depending on placement.
With the inches side facing outward, wrap the measuring tape around the area where you would like your strand to lay.
Breathe normally and make sure the position is comfortable. It should not be too tight or too loose. Leave enough room for breathing and bloatedness.
The number where the end of the measuring tape touches is your measurement.
